A s a tech enthusiast and a plant lover, I was excited to try out the Ivy Smart Pet Planter. The combination of technology, convenience and tracking data was very appealing and who has never dream of being able to interact with their plants. After a short doubt about how long I would actively use it before getting bored, I decided to welcome Ivy into my home. Here is my review about few weeks.
Unboxing and First Impressions
Inside the box, you will find the planter, a USB-cable, a measuring cup, stone and colorful balls and a quick start guide, all you are missing is a plant and some soil. The product feel is of good quality and sturdy and seamlessly fit in home decor. Setting up the Ivy Smart Pet Planter was straightforward. Within minutes, Ivy was ready to take on its mission of keeping my plants alive and thriving. There is no proprietary app but it runs on Tuya Smart app.

The built-in reservoir holds enough water to keep your plant hydrated for up to two weeks, making it perfect for busy schedules or vacations. No need to keep track of the water level, the app notifies you when it’s time to refill the reservoir.
Home Companion
Like a paw companion, Ivy’s daily routine include snacking, drinking, taking a nap and sunbathing. Ivy is also notifying you if she get’s thirsty, too hot, too cold or need some more light to have a nice tan.
And like any companion, Ivy likes to interact and play. Ivy will react to your touch and it will impact its expression. You can customize the expressions for your plants through the app. The app offers further customization options, such as displaying photos, activating sleep mode, and adjusting various other settings to meet your plants’ unique needs. Special updates are rolled out during festive occasions like Halloween and Christmas to add unique expressions to Ivy.
Daily Life with Ivy
Ivy is a nice addition to my home office set-up. I enjoy the friendly face and distraction it provides. I surprised myself regularly checking the app for updates on my plant’s health while being on weekend trip. The app’s interface is user-friendly, displaying easy-to-read graphs and notifications. I’ve learned that my Fittonia Albivenis doesn’t like too much light and thrives best with indirect sunlight, and Ivy helps me adjust its placement accordingly.
