A good office chair is an essential part of your [home] office equipment. Selecting the right chair for you is is critical, as inadequate and unergonomic seating can impact your productivity and lead to headache, neck and back pain. When selecting my office chair, I have spend a considerable amount of time making extensive researches, only to be more confuse due to the variety of brands, office chairs attributes and the wide price range. Unless you go for a very cheap option, buying an office chair in an investment and you want to be sure it is going to be the right on. My researches led me to the Flexispot C7 Pro Max but due to logistic, I opted for the HBADA E3 Air.
Unboxing & Assembly
Your are first surprised by the size of the box, making you question how your chair can fit in such a small box. Your anxiety disappear as soon as you open the box. Everything is neatly packed and we’ll protected. The assembly is easy with clear and detailed instructions, it took me approximately 30 minutes to get the chair ready. The screws and the “wrench” provided are of superior quality (not Ikea grade – no offence), allowing you to tighten the assembly. Screws are neatly organized and identified and spare screws are even provided. This contribute to a positive impression from the start and a feel of quality and robustness. An improvement would be to provide more guidance on how to align elements with oblong holes to ensure more precise mounting.
The assembling instruction is of good quality with some minor translation issues. The surprising thing is that when you scan the QR code, which is supposed to redirect you to an installation video, you are instead redirected to the play/app store to download WeChat…

Review
The level of adjustment is somehow confusing at the first but you quickly find the right set-up. The manual is explaining how to adjust the different parameters but it would be nice to have some instruction on how to adjust the chair for an ergonomic fitting seating.
Even without the proper adjustment, you are surprised by how comfortable the chair is. The lumbar support is very comfortable and release tension on your lower back and offer a smooth rotation when resting your upper back to the backrest. Being able to adjust the seating cushion position horizontally is providing extra comfort. It was a bit of a struggle to adjust the headrest but once it is done, you won’t seat in a chair without one.
The reclining experience is excellent, it is almost too comfortable and you wish you could be in this position the whole day. The dynamic balance mechanism ensure a soft and continuous support as the base move upward in synch with the backrest and lumbar support. In contrary to certain office chairs I have tested, the E3 Air does not move when reclining and very stable, removing the need to find the tricky balance to ensure equilibrium.
In summary, the seating and support provided is great, unfortunately the wheels and the armrest are not in par. The wheels offers some resistance and are quite noisy, which is not a deal breaker. The armrests even with their high level of adjustment allow good support when using keyboard and mouse but are a bit too wide when using only the keyboard while at the same time preventing you to rest your wrist on the desk.
The height adjustment is perfect for me (I am 1.78) so if you are a tall person, this might chair might be too small. If you are of a skinny type, you might not benefit fully from the lumbar support wing wrapping as it seems to be been mad for stronger build.
